Fantasy Formula 1 2009 Results
Submitted by ff1 on 2 November, 2009 - 21:51.
The 2009 Formula One season is now over. Congratulations to Jenson Button on a great championship victory.
In terms of Fantasy Formula 1, I want to congratulate Simon Hillery (hilles motorsport), a warehouse manager from the UK, whose team hw racing were the eventual winners of the 2009 Fantasy Formula 1 league competition. The winning team was:
hw racing were joint first since the third race of the season, along with sharpvaders, Moore GP1, Essex GP and Iron chickens, who all finished on the same points. Those tiebreakers are important!
The trial knockout competition was won by POR09, managed by PaulOR (tinyirish). Congratulations Paul!

The Final Race
Submitted by ff1 on 19 October, 2009 - 21:43.As the final race of the season approaches, the F1 championship may already have been decided, but both the fantasy league and knockout titles are still up for grabs.
The league will be decided by the tiebreaker, with 5 teams in the running.
The knockout final is between 2 similar teams and will be determined by who does best out of world champion Jenson Button and his team mate Rubens Barrichello.
So make sure you check back here after the last race of the season to find out where you've finished.
Knockout competition
Submitted by ff1 on 7 May, 2009 - 22:30.Thanks to an early suggestion by SIDDY, along with some positive feedback, I am today able to launch a trial knockout competition. Hopefully, this will add a bit of interest to those teams that are not doing quite so well in the league.
The format is simple:
- The knockout competition will operate over the final 13 races of the 2009 F1 season, so the first round will be Spain.
- Every team has been entered into the first round draw.
- The draw for every round is completely random.
- The second round draw will only contain 4096 teams (a factor of 2), so some teams have been given a bye through round one.
- Each match will have only one winner.
- In the event of a tie in the final, the tiebreaker will be used to decide the winner.
- In the event of a tie in any other round, the away team will go through to the next round.
Australia results updated
Submitted by ff1 on 14 April, 2009 - 22:32.As pointed out in this comment, I had made a mistake with the scoring of the Australian qualifying results. I had awarded points for the Toyota drivers, cars and engines as if they had finished 19th and 20th. I should have awarded zero points for these because they were disqualified.
Thank you to swedishchef2003 for spotting the error, reporting it and finally testing my fix. Please continue to shout if you notice any scoring problems on the site.
Fantasy F1 2009... GAME ON!!!
Submitted by ff1 on 28 March, 2009 - 00:00.Well, that's it. You've created your teams and entered your leagues... now its time to sit back and enjoy the season. And just hope that you made the right choices!
!!! ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED !!!
You can no longer enter new teams or edit existing teams and you can now view the teams of other users. You can still enter your existing teams into leagues, but this ability will be removed on Friday 17th April 2009 at 23:59 GMT. Also at this time, if you have created a league that has less than 2 teams entered, that league will be deleted.
Help pay for site hosting costs
Submitted by ff1 on 26 March, 2009 - 23:29.This site is experiencing an amazing popularity boom for the 2009 F1 season. We already have 4 times more teams entered this season than in 2008. This is great news!
I would be very grateful if you could help fund this impressive growth by contributing to the ever increasing server costs of the site. With the additional users comes an increase in bandwidth requirement, so I need to move up to the next package level provided by eUKhost.
Please use this Chipin widget to contribute in any way you can. This site is FREE and will always remain free, so any small amount you can afford will be gratefully received.
New fantasy F1 forums
Submitted by ff1 on 12 March, 2009 - 00:00.In recent weeks, theres has been a flurry of comments on this site. In an attempt to keep all comments in one location, I am launching a new forum. I've split the forum up into various categories, so hopefully there should be somewhere to post any of your questions, comments or discussions. I'll also keep you updated with my plans for the site, using the announcements section.
Please visit the new forum, start a new thread, and enjoy...
Ian
