It is a sad day indeed that this site has had to close down.... after seeing your request for legal assistance all my friends and I from my mini-league were concerned that last year would be the last one ever.
I'm sorry that it had to come to this, and that the threat of legal action over something set up for fun and non-profit was wiped out.
I speak for everyone from all my mini-leagues over the years when I say that your site will be missed. Having spent time looking at other options none of them hold a candle to you or your site and so, for me & my friends, Fantasy F1 is no more.
Your website became a talking point in all emails, texts & even down the pub as we all got competitive against each other and started being more loyal to our 'fantasy' teams than to our actual favourite drivers/teams... your site created such competition and it was the first thing I checked after a race to see how well my team had done.
It's just a shame that I didn't have one more year to improve on 2nd place in my Mini-Leagues over the last 5-6 years.
As per all the other comments above, I wish you all the success in any future adventures, you deserve it.

Thanx Ian for all your hard work over the years, my work colleagues and I have had great fun using your site. Why can't those silly big wigs see it actually enhanced the season and could never pose any sort of threat to them!

As everyone above has said, you've done an excellent job with this website and me and my work mates have really enjoyed using it. and its a credit to the work you've put in, that I can't find another suitable site to use instead of this one that allows the same flexibility..
but we all appreciate the work you've put in over the last few years, just a shame that Bernie and his crew have put an end to it all..

As this is a non-profit site there is actually nothing in the law that Bernie or the FOM can actually do to you, if you was using this site as a business then that would be a different matter, although the site does have a donation button on it, that is only people putting money towards the site, they are not paying you out of obligation. So the law is on your side.
Sorry to hear you're having to close down the game. I enjoyed taking part very much and was looking forward again to setting up a league for me and my friends this year. Thanks for all your hard work and I wish you all the best in the future.

Ian, you have done a wonderful job, and brought so much more excitement into F1. It is such a shame that the've done this to a popular sport. Suppose they just want a cut of it (its all for fun). I will not be joining another league, on the prinipal of it.

Such a sad day to hear that all the hard work that Ian has done for us fans must now come to an end ! It hurts to think that the sport we all love and enjoy has turned on Ian and us all to shut this website down ! So yet again the so called "FAT CATS"(Formula One Management) have decided that the "SMALL MAN ON THE STREET"(Ian and us fans) cant have a bit of harmless fun having our Fantasy F1 game anymore ! SHAME ON THEM !
Anyway i would just like to thank Ian for all of his hard work over the years and the many hours of his own time he spent making this website a success ! Thanks mate and all the very best for the future !

Ian, I sure I speak for a great many of us when I say how sorry I am that this day has arrived. I'd like to thank you for all your efforts and for all the fun you've provided with your site over the last few years.

Here's an alternative league for anyone that is interested: http://www.fantasyracers.com/
I had teams in both last year and liked Fantasy Racers as well or better than Fantasy Formula 1. You get to pick four drivers and have a choice of budgets, 40mm with the ability to change drivers every week, or 45mm but no changes once the season starts. No engine or car choices but there are many leagues to choose from or you can start your own. You pick one team and up to two leagues per entry for both Formula 1 and IndyCar if you choose. I believe there is also British Touring Cars League and a Soccer Fantasy League.
I've tried emailing Ian at the mail address registered with the site, to see if he can give us an answer.
I know that he had concerns over whether he'd be forced to close the site because of a letter he'd received last year from 'Formula One Management Ltd'. Hopefully we'll get some sort of answer soon, but I too am on the lookout for an alternative Fantasy F1 site, just in case.
Would really like to know either way if Ian is doing the Fantasy F1 this season ! If he is then hes leaving it a bit late and if not then can he please let us know so we can look elsewhere rather than leaving it so late for people to look for another site at the last minute !

I run a league at my workplace and I find myself looking on other sites to try to find a backup, if we don't hear anything from Ian soon then I'm afraid we're gonna have to look elsewhere, 1 week and 3 days to go and I would be sad not to compete on here again :-/
Hopefully soon, me and a few others that I am friends with all went to get stuck in already
yes.. please let us know ASAP as I am interested in creating three leagues for this season and there is little time to set-up the leagues and inform people
