You really should change that, what a boring fantasy league.
"but thats the point of FF1 you stick by your choice."
If this is the point of FF1, then the priorities and direction of this site should really be re-evaluated. The point should be to have fun, promote FF1. I did some research on this in the last 1/2 hour. The problem is, that as a whole the FF1 world continues to be stuck in a world that accepts less than the best and then gets all elitest about it.
With Mercedes being the engine of 6 cars, not picking Mercedes will prevent me from advancing in this league. I don't have the option to change that. I even joked with a colleague, that we'll see how it starts and I'll make adjustments from there. Adjustments? You know kind of like a real team does to gain leverage on the competition. They make tire adjustment, gear ratio adjustments, chassis adjustments, driver's practice, learn new techniques, refine old techniques. If nobody was allowed to make changes, or adjustments in Formula 1, then why would they continue to race? They do!
This league doesn't give me that option, I'm stuck. It doesn't matter anyway, today will be the last day I'll ever do FF1 again anyway, especially if the "point" is that you are "stuck"
When FF1 started last season i was 690th by the end of the season i was 1st. After the first race i wished that i could have changed my team but thats the point of FF1 you stick by your choice.
I also noticed that people were moaning about the tie break time.......... did anyone email the teams to see what they thought it might be? If you did then your taking the game seriously!
"The skill in the game is working out what components you think will be a bargain based on the rules and their prices."
What's the point if you can't change your team components from week to week, and you can use a lot to base this on too, previous successes, type of track, weather conditions.
I had a friend talk me into this league and was getting me excited about F1 racing, but this league is far from fantasy, it's just a guessing match, no skill, whoever guesses the best from the beginning is the winner and everyone loses out on making changes to their team to give themselves a chance to win, especially with such a lame rules glitch as engine points. The opportunity to make adjustments would have kept me involved from beginning to end, I guess I'll have to rely on some other means to keep me involved in F1, because this site isn't fantasy F1 racing, it's really lame.
It's a good attempt, I guess, but overall, my initial experience is this is lame.
What's the point of following this for an entire season if I figure out that going with BMW was a dumb idea over Mercedes? I'm new to the arena of F1 racing, but not the world of fantasy sports. This in no way, helps become a fan either!
Also, what is with the tone of the responses? I've heard that F1 fans are elitests and whoever is responding to these, namely ff1, is doing nothing to disparage that impression.
I'll probably get removed from this site, but what does it matter anyway, I get no value from this at all, unless BMW somehow finds it's way into more cars.
That kubica had the fastest lap!

~ Good luck in the season!
google ads are crap... they make sites look cluttered, and u need so many clicks to even earn a tenner that they are totally pointless.
would be good to see people chip in. as i reckon this site is spot on. and very well organised.
thanks for providing the service
Teams 6820 and 6827 have been removed from the Centurion F1 league.
According to the official F1 website the fastest lap was Nico Rosberg 1:27:706
Will the scores link be updated as it currently shows different from the league tables. e.g. Car-Brawn shows score of 134 but league score 146
regards
andy
Why hasn't Button gotten us 25 points for the fastest lap? Or has he and I've missed it somehow? Sorry if that's the case
Thanks for letting me know. This has now been done.
Wow, what a busy morning! :o) The results have been updated yet again, this time to take account of Trulli's penalty. Hopefully, that will be the last update.
Trulli has received a 25 sec penalty for overtaking Hamilton while Safely Car was deployed. You need to adjust the official results please.
Official results for Aus GP from FIA
1 22 Jenson Button
2 23 Rubens Barrichello
3 1 Lewis Hamilton
4 10 Timo Glock
5 7 Fernando Alonso
6 16 Nico Rosberg
7 12 Sebastien Buemi
8 11 Sebastien Bourdais
9 20 Adrian Sutil
10 6 Nick Heidfeld
11 21 Giancarlo Fisichella
12 9 Jarno Trulli
13 14 Mark Webber

15 5 Robert Kubica
16 4 Kimi Räikkönen Laps
Ret 3 Felipe Massa
Ret 8 Nelsinho Piquet
Ret 17 Kazuki Nakajima
Ret 2 Heikki Kovalainen
Thanks for asking so politely, but no :o) That is one of the things you should have taken into account when you created your team. Why do you think they were the cheapest engine?
Hi
Could you please remove teams 6820 and 6827 "Centurion F1" please.
Thanks
As mentioned previously, all the results are based on the results at formula1.com. If they are updated, I will update the results/scores accordingly.
Watch this space...
Teams 9064 and 9071 have now been removed from this league.
What happens now pitpass is saying that trulli has been handed a 25 second penalty? Do the results change?
Sorry, but you cannot change your teams now. They are set for the rest of the season.
I've never really used IRC before and don't really have the time to invest in it. So, I won't be setting up an IRC channel. But, if someone else wants to set up a channel for this site, I'd be happy to put a link to it.
I was nervous for a while, because the results on formula1.com did not show these disqualifications, but fortunately in the last hour they have updated them.
So hopefully everyone will agree with the results and the way the scoring has been implemented. Please leave comments here if you want to discuss it ;o)
The official results have now been updated to take account of the qualifying disqualifications.
Since I began running this site in 2005, I don't remember a time when anyone got disqualified from qualification. This is different to the change of engine/gearbox situation for which a precedent has already been set.
So, here's what will happen:
Disqualified during qualification
Drivers will not gain any qualifying points. Cars and Engines will not gain qualifying points for the disqualified driver's car.
Change of engine/gearbox
All components will keep their qualifying points based on qualifying position, not grid position. My reasoning for this is that when a driver changes engine/gearbox, he is penalised by being moved back 10 places on the grid. So he will probably end up scoring less race points as a result... unless he has a great race, in which case, he deserves the points!
I expect some discussion on this subject, but ultimately I will be adding these two rules to the instructions page.
As many of you will know, the scoring on this site is based directly on the results shown on formula1.com. At the time of writing this, the Australia qualifying results page is still showing the Toyota's in positions 6 & 8. However, this is because the FIA has only released preliminary standings so far. I expect these results to be update to include the disqualifications very soon.
The results are updated on the hour after the race has finished. So if the race finishes at 7:37am, the results on this site will update at 8:00am. The results will initially be provisional, subject to change and will remain that way until the 'Official' results are confirmed on Formula1.com.
