The 2011 F1 Season is over!
Well, what a great season! Even though the championship was over half way through the season, in my mind this has been one of the most enjoyable F1 seasons for years. So, congratulations the Red Bull, Sebastian Vettel and also to Jenson Button for grabbing that much sought after second place.
With the end of the F1 season comes the crowning of the 2011 fantasy f1 champion. This glorious prize goes this year to Matt Dawson, whose team Copse Corpse, was among 82 teams that scored an amazing 5485 points and led the way for the entire second half of the season. Fortunately for Matt, his tie breaker time was an unbelievable 1.659 seconds away from Mark Webber's finishing time in Brazil. So please post your comments and join me in congratulating Matt in his victory.
Matt had this to say:
I think it was obvious early on that Vettel would dominate but what was most satisfying (as a fan) was seeing Paul di Resta do so well. I think in a better team he could really start to challenge for podiums. I imagine it will be more difficult to pick the two of them in the same team next year but I look forward to giving it a go!
Also, congratulations to all the managers who won each of the mini leagues this year. I know from the comments that I receive that these mini leagues are where most of the fun and certainly the rivalry takes place.
I hope everyone has enjoyed playing this year and you'll all be back again next year. If you would like to see some major improvements to the site over the winter, I really need some help. Any willing volunteers, please join the discussion at Improvements for 2012 Fantasy F1 Game.
Happy holidays!
See you all next year.
Ian
