Identifying League Players

I don't know about anyone else, but as a league owner I think it would be handy to see the names of the people who have submitted teams to the league as well as the names of the teams.

That way I can send a reminder to anyone who hasn't submitted a team, without having to spam all my friends with a reminder message.

Re: Identifying League Players

Thank you for that suggestion. I would love to add it now, but I'm not sure I will get enough time before the start of the season. I will make sure it gets in before next season though.

Re: Identifying League Players - Resurrected

Hi Ian this would be great if you could apply it to this season, I bet it's too late again?

Re: Identifying League Players - Resurrected

I've added a list of teams/managers beneath the league details. Hopefully, this solves your problems. Let me know either way.

That is awesome, exactly what I needed, thanks Ian!

Re: Identifying League Players - Resurrected

What I'd really like is a way to contact the actual players themselves.

I try to send out regular post-race round-ups to the participants in my league to congratulate folk at the top of the league and to occasionally deride those at the bottom, but if someone new joins the league (at the invitation of an existing member) then I don't necessarily know who they are or what their email address is. I usually have to mail everyone and ask them if they know who participant XXX is.

I think it would be handy if there were a messaging mechanism where you could enter a message and send it to some (or all of) the members of your league. Of course that might contravene the "use of email address" message on the registration screen, so I can understand if it weren't possible.

Re: Identifying League Players - Resurrected

Hi Paul,

That is a great idea and one that I've thought about implementing before (although not quite as you described). At the moment, I don't have the infrastructure for that, but I'm hoping to upgrade things over the next year and be able to introduce more social features. Its certainly not imminent, but ... watch this space!

Ian, I applaud you for what

Ian,

I applaud you for what you've already created. It's amazing.

I love how submitting a team changes the dynamic of how you watch a GP. I love the fact that you create a team and have to accept a driver/team that is less than ideal and as a result, you find your self cheering on drivers/teams you might have not really bothered about previously.

I, for one, can't ask you for any more.

Thank you

Thank you, I'm glad you like it.

Good luck.

Re: Identifying League Players

No problem Ian.

I'd offer to help you with the changes but I don't know anything about the system and you probably don't want an outsider making code changes anyway. :)

Paul,

I'm always grateful for help! ;-) Do you know anything about Drupal?

Re: Identifying League Players

Hi Ian. Drupal isn't something I've worked with before - I'm more of a C++/C#/MSSQl person, but I've downloaded a copy to have a look through it when I get a chance.
