"If a driver is replaced part way through the season, that driver will stop scoring points and his replacement will NOT score points in his place. So any team containing a replaced driver will NOT accumulate the points of the replacement driver."
Whilst I agree with the rule
Whilst I agree with the rule if a driver is replaced for performance reasons, I feel the rule should have the flexibility to adapt depending on the reason. To replace massa was a decision forced upon them, this was a pure accident

The rule has to be a constant that covers all situations without an argument/appeals process to make the FIA look competent:
Assume for a moment it had happened to Webber 3 races earlier. With the collapse from Brawn and the huge step forward from Red Bull it's possible his replacement would have 20 points by now, and by the last couple of races he could have caught Button and been in with a shout of the title, with Webber and Vettel out of it.
If we'd been scoring points for Webber's repacement while he was injured what would you do if Webber was fit to return but the team opted to stick with his replacement so that he (and the team) could go for both titles? How would you determine when Webber had been fit to return?
Before you ask, yes I do have Massa in my team and it does pretty much knacker me for the season. With most teams in my league having Button I'm left with Brawn and Toyota (engine) to beat Kimi/Lewis/Vettel Red Bull, Mercedes for the other sides at the top.

....Michael Schumacher will replace Massa (Yay!) That's a damn shame you can't score with Schumi. (I don't have Massa in my team I'm just saying it's a shame for people who do, Schumi would have score quite a few I reckon.)

OK, so if Massa is your driver, you get NO points from Schumacher. However, I assume whose driving has no impact on points scored by a chassis manufacturer. So if you have Ferrari as your "car", you still get points for both cars regardless of whose driving, right?
